HR-6032 : Still Just a Bill

The Transparency in Legacy Road and Trail Remediation Act of 2023, also known as H.R. 6032, aims to increase transparency in the Forest Service Legacy Road and Trail Remediation Program. The bill amends Public Law 88-657 (16 U.S.C. 538a) to require the Forest Service to:

  • Publish annually, for each of its nine regions, a list of projects considered for funding under the Program.
  • Accept public comments on these projects.
  • Consider public comments when selecting projects for funding.
  • Publish a list that includes a description of each project considered, public comments received, the ranking of each project within its region, and the proposed outcome of each project funded for the fiscal year.
