Refurbishing the Pillars of American Exceptionalism Act of 2020

This bill addresses various issues including immigration, health care, firearms, abortion, and taxes.

Among other things, this bill

  • limits who may receive citizenship by virtue of being born in the United States;
  • repeals the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act;
  • prohibits providing an abortion if the fetus has a detectable heartbeat, with some exceptions;
  • removes from federal jurisdiction any case seeking the review of any law or regulation that limits or regulates abortions;
  • repeals certain nutritional standards for national school lunch and school breakfast programs;
  • prohibits the state or local regulation of firearm silencers;
  • makes English the official language of the United States and authorizes a person injured by a violation of this provision to sue;
  • caps noneconomic damages at $250,000 in any health care lawsuit;
  • repeals federal income taxes, payroll taxes, and estate taxes; and
  • establishes a national sales tax.
