HR-6825 : Still Just a Bill

H.R. 6825, titled the "Federal Monitor and Receiver Testimony" bill, proposes to enhance accountability for Federal oversight of public housing agencies. This legislation would require:

• Any Federal monitor or receiver who has overseen a public housing agency in the previous year to testify annually.
• Testimony must be presented before the House Committee on Financial Services and the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.
• This testimony is mandated to occur no later than October 1st of each year.
• The focus of the testimony will be on the management oversight provided by the Federal monitor or receiver.
