The Air Security Act of 2023, also known as S. 3473, seeks to extend the prohibition on providing airport improvement grant funds to entities that have violated the intellectual property rights of United States entities.
Specifically, the bill amends subsections (a) and (c)(2)(B) of section 10003 of the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021. The amendment changes the expiration date of the prohibition from "2023" to "2024". In essence, this bill extends an existing law for an additional year.
