HR-5262 : Still Just a Bill

The DoD PFAS Cleanup Transparency Act of 2023, also known as H.R. 5262, mandates the Secretary of Defense to publicly disclose information regarding the progress of specific cleanup operations undertaken by the Department of Defense (DoD).

• Specifically, the Secretary of Defense must publish timely and regularly updated information on the status of cleanup sites for which the Secretary has allocated funds for environmental restoration activities.
• This information will be available on the publicly accessible website established under section 331(b) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020.
• The initial publication must occur within one year of the Act's enactment, with updates provided annually thereafter.
